SHAKESPEARE

POST-PSLE SECONDARY 1 BRIDGING
ENGLISH

In Secondary School, students will be required to use language to express their thoughts and opinions on complex and abstract ideas. To do that, students will need to equip themselves with a new set of specific skills that include summary and expository writing.

There will be class discussions on issues that teenagers care about to supplement the written exercises. This will be a constructive and welcome departure from the intensive writing-based exercises students would have gone through in the pre-PSLE weeks!

This workshop is taught by a Mediacorp scriptwriter and Rice Media/Yahoo journalist.

POST-PSLE SECONDARY 1 BRIDGING
SCIENCE

The limitations of Primary School Science syllabus inevitably results in the over-simplification of certain science principles or concepts - which leads to more questions than answers. In these 6 lessons, we answer those questions by exploring the topics students have been exposed to in greater depth and creating links between they've learnt in Primary School and what they will learn in Secondary School.

As with our usual Science lessons, there'll be lots of hands-on activities and experiments to verify what they're learning.

POST-PSLE SECONDARY 1 BRIDGING
MATHEMATICS

Contrary to its name, most Secondary One newbies do not find Elementary Mathematics elementary at all. The jump in the level of abstraction catches many students off-guar and puts a dent in their confidence.

To give students a head start, we'll give students a strong grounding in topics that many Secondary One students grapple with. And because it's post-PSLE, you can be sure that lessons will be infused with constructive mathematical hands-on activities and games!
