SPEED MENTAL ARITHMETIC
TRACHTENBERG METHOD
The Trachtenberg Speed System is a system of mental calculation. An alternative way of learning maths, the system consists of many maths shortcuts and mental math tricks, particularly for multiplication.
Known to be one of the fastest speed math systems, it comprises a number of easily memorised patterns that allow one to perform arithmetic computations without pen and paper. The system primarily focuses on multiplication tricks but with further practice and study, you can learn division, addition, subtraction and square root.

Learn all about PEEL and how to use it well in expository essays. Once you’ve mastered this technique, you’ll see a boost in grades for your Humanities subjects as well!

GO (WEIQI)
TOUGHER THAN CHESS
In 1996, a computer system defeated a reigning human world chess champion for the first time. It would take another 20 years before programmers came up with an Al computer system capable of beating the one of the greatest Go players of all time – a testimony of the complexity of the game.
Invented in China more than 2500 years ago, Go was considered one of the four essential arts in ancient China and is the oldest board game continuously played to the present day. Despite its simple rules, Go is a game that requires enormous brain computing power due to the sheer number of possible moves and board positions.
This workshop is conducted by an experienced instructor who has taught children and adults for many years. He is the champion of the Southeast Asian Weiqi Championship in 2012 and an executive committee member of the Singapore Weiqi Association.
