Teacher Cindy, Mathematics & English Specialist
About

Teacher Cindy

Mathematics & English Specialist

Special Powers
  • Turning lessons into laughter – and learning that sticks
  • Languages
  • Motivating students to do what needs to be done

Cindy’s sharp pedagogical skills can be attributed to her training in both formal and informal settings. She started her educator journey as a teacher at a MOE school and a private tutor at an enrichment centre chain. She recently graduated from the tricky business of being a personal tutor to her boy. A double major in Mathematics and English, Cindy is adept at explaining mind-numbing mathematical problems in simple language.

Cindy likes learning languages, including non-human ones. A proud mistress of two dogs, she is, in her own words, a “dog whisperer”.

Teacher Satwinder Kaur, Mathematics, Science & English
About

Teacher Satwinder Kaur

Mathematics, Science & English

Special Powers
  • Fostering the Joy of Learning 😊
  • Bending Time (especially during long problem sums!) 😎
  • Queen of Scaffolding 🫶

Teacher Satwinder is an NIE-trained educator with more than 20 years of primary school teaching experience across Mathematics, Science and English. While Mathematics has always been her particular passion, her extensive classroom experience across all three core subjects gives her a strong understanding of how children learn, think and communicate.

Firm yet friendly, Satwinder runs highly engaging lessons where no child is left to struggle alone. She is a master at asking the right questions at the right moments, sharpening her students’ metacognitive skills so they learn to think about their own thinking — a crucial skill not only in mathematical problem solving, but also in developing scientific reasoning and strong language skills.

Satwinder believes that every child is an innate learner waiting to blossom. Her role? To guide, scaffold and spark that learning with patience, joy and just the right amount of challenge.

Mathematics remains her passion, and helping anxious learners gain confidence is one of her greatest strengths. At the same time, her years of experience teaching Science and English allow her to bring the same structured, questioning approach to helping students understand scientific concepts, express their ideas clearly and become more confident learners across subjects.

With Satwinder, even the toughest topics feel doable — and sometimes, even fun.

When she is not teaching, Teacher Satwinder enjoys curling up with a good book and solving puzzles — the perfect blend of calm and curiosity.
